Vanguard SS

The Vanguard SS. This was the top of the line for Viking.
The Vanguard SS had all the features that Viking had to offer, which also included, Padded handle bar pad,
Para Rail rear suspension and Tachometer-Speedometer. The Vanguard had a 18 inch wide plastic track.
The Vanguard SS was in the model lineup 1972-1975.
The sled shown is the Viking Purple.

1976 Viking

The 1976 Viking. The line was cut to 2 models, the SS and the standard in 340 and 440cc..
The SS series featured the Para Rail suspension, padded handle bars, and Tachometer-Speedometer.
The SS also now featured the CD ignition on the 440 Kohlers. Both models had a new look to them.
They had twin headlights, 1 color, purple, a distinctive white strip with the Viking in block letters.
They had a new sleeker dash area. All 1976 Vikings had 15 inch wide tracks.
There were only about 125 1976 machines made, as Viking Filed Bankruptcy in September of 1975..
The sled shown belongs to Curtis Bentley, and is the Viking Purple.
